World Cup

So now I'm going to put my 2 cents worth into the World Cup. This fantastic affair with soccer over one month , where guys' and some gals' lives will revolve around 6 to 9 hours every night , watching some 22 people wage war on the green turf over a deceptively simple-looking ball.

Yes, this World Cup's motto is " A time to make friends" but I think it really is a war out there on the pitch. Of course, some of the teams so far have shown sportsmanship on and off the field. But on some games, it has been nothing but brutal absolute war. Take Holland v Portugal : tension in this match was at an alltime high after the referee personally massacred the teams on both sides for a record yellow cards . It was clear after the match when the handshaking that was supposed to happen failed. Then there is Germany v Argentina- both sides battled so closely for the ball that eventually it came to a penalty, which of course the Germans savoured with that fancy new Berlin wall, Lehmann. The Argentine players didn't even bother with courtesies and protested physically after the match.

Well enough about ruining the game. Let's talk about this whole colourful event. Where to start?
I love the Germans this year. They have always been a strong European team, using unspectacular players to do extraordinary things. This is much unlike the English this year( using great players to do crap) and why I absolutely do not support the English this year. They make every game so boring, so mundane, and if it takes Beckham to perform for them you know they really suck. The Germans have a great war machine going, with both strong offense and defence, and they have Klose and Lord Ballack to finish things off with a bang. They started it with a bang indeed- 4-2 against Costa Rica- and I hope they finish this with a fantastic victory. HAIL THE DEUTSCHELAND!!!!!
Holland has been great as always .. total football defined. But they had a poor finish.. siannn lose to Portugal in the midst of this mad ref... didn't even get their goals rolling. Sad sad.... :(
Italy will forever be remembered this year for their poor sending off of Australia, with that miserable diver and much more...
Well thats all for now. Like I care.... hahahah
